Virginia lawmakers say their law was not intended to mandate masks, contradicting Northam`s order

Two Virginia state lawmakers sent a letter to superintendents and school boards in response to the mask mandate that was issued on Aug. 12 requiring masks in all K-12 schools. They used the letter to clarify what they say has been a misrepresentation of a law passed earlier this year being used as basis to mandate masks in schools.
